Bahau

Lions Club of Bahau

I remember with great endearment one of Lion’s earliest community projects, way back in 1997. It was held in the thriving “timber” town of Bahau. “Bahau” which literally means “Horse’s Mouth” in Cantonese, is located in the district of Jempol, Negeri Sembilan.

Indeed, I was honored to be invited by Lion President Chong Soon Teck of the Bahau Lions Club to distribute red packets to needy old folks at the Rumah Orang Tua Bahau. R8C Ally Liong and Z18C Navin accompanied me.

The genuine smiles on the faces of the old folks more than made up for the long drive (583 km) from Penang!

Then we proceeded to visit a poor family and presented them with food aid, household toiletries groceries, and a small token for their children.

My gracious host, the Lions of Bahau later honoured me with a sumptuous dinner at the Bahau Restoran Rest House It was a fruitful night for me. I delivered a speech and later fielded some questions. After the formal event, it was Happy Hours till dawn.

Bahau would be one of the important destinations that I am truly privileged to be a part of!  As every proud Lion would proclaim, “We Serve”
