Orientation & Leadership Seminar
Lions Club of Kota Baru
15/8/1997
As the District Governor, I had often emphasised on leadership training to our Lions because a good leader can inspire his followers to do the right things with passion. District Chairman for Leadership, Raymond Tee took heed of my message and duly got the Lions Club of Kota Budaya to organise a Leadership Seminar.
IPDG Leong A.Sam seated next to me with VDG Chee Boon Leong |
President Andrew Lim presented me a token whilst Alex Lee was helping out. |
The club invited two veteran speakers, namely IPDG Leong and VDG Chee to speak. This dynamic duo captivated the 50 plus participants.
Many Lions made the journey from as far as Kuala Krai and Gua Musang. Syabas Kota Budaya!
I am reminded of Jim Rohn’s quote, “The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not a bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly.”
A food for thought:
A food for thought:
"We have 45,000 clubs and each club has a
president and 3 vice presidents. The 4 of them X 45,000 clubs, we have 180,000 trained leaders.
Do you know Lions Clubs International has given training and at
the same time used, annually, 180,000 top qualified trained leaders in the
world. Money cannot employ them. How do you get this figure
End of June, new group will come. This is
an on-going process, year on year out. Lionism keeps on training and training.
Lionism is a training machine; training
people to be useful, caring and realise your self. And who you are."
