Dialogue with DG Alexander Fa (District 300-2A)

Dialogue Session with DG Alexander Fa - District 300-2A

I received a visit from DG Alexander Fa from District 300-2A in Taiwan. He led his cabinet officers to pay a courtesy call to me. The purpose of his call was to discuss the possibility of a district twinning between his district and ours.

It was a very impromptu decision and I had to seek the opinion of my key officers and past governors, knowing the fact that it was not appropriate timing for twinning for us. Our district was in the process of  undergoing a bifurcation by the end of the fiscal year.

However, we welcomed DG Alexander Fa and his Cabinet Officers with open arms with a dinner and a meeting the next day.

Zone 16 Chairman Veronica Koh was entrusted to organised the welcome dinner on 22/9/1997 where we exchanged gifts and banerettes. The night was filled with fellowship and soon the cabinet officers of both districts got to know each other very well.

The next morning on 23/9/1997, we had a dialogue session to highlight our situation and to discuss further the proposal at our cabinet meeting.

In Attendance: PID Dato Douglas KK Lee,  IPDG Leong A Sam, VDG Chee Boon Leong ,and PDG ST Yeoh

District 300-2A Cabinet Officers

Though disappointed that the sisterhood alliance of our two district did not go through, there would be another occasion.
