19/10/1997 Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Taman Tun
History was created when I was invited to induct 27 new members into the fraternity of the Lions Club of KL Taman Tun.
Whilst I congratulated the new Lions, I assured them that they have taken the first step towards making lifelong friendship as well as making a commitment towards the betterment of society. Besides forging new relationships, the new members could hone their leadership skills when they partake in KL Taman Tun’s varied activities. Their circle of friendship and contacts would be further enhanced. However, it was all important that these new Lions be clear of their role and responsibilities in Lionism.
Prior to the induction ceremony, a 2-hour Orientation Talk was conducted to ensure that the new Lions subscribe to the Lion’s Charter. Veteran speakers, PDG James Pang, PDG John Loh and Cabinet Secretary Kenny Koay did great in mentoring the newbies.
