Kampar
It was a case of “killing two birds with one stone” as I proceeded to visit the Lions Club of Kampar after my visit to Kuala Kangsar on the same day.
The occasion was the Installation of Dr. Rowland C.J. as the 28th President of the Lions Club of Kampar. Three new Lions were also inducted.
The Perak fraternity of Lions from various regions turned up in full force for the dinner. There must be fifty of them, not counting the locals in Kampar. The Guest of Honour was the MP of Kampar, YB Datuk Hew See Tong. Yang Berbahagia, Datuk K. Pathmanaban, a former prominent person in Malaysian Indian politics was a Special Guest.
One of the highlights, during the evening, was the induction of three new members. They were Ng Wah Leng, Oh Saw Khim, and Chan Yoke Lin.
I was very pleased to see that veteran Lions such as Goh Tai Wah has offered to guide the club to fulfill its mission to serve the community.
