Seberang Perai Selatan
Over at the mainland of my hometown was the Lions Club of Seberang Perai Selatan. It was chartered in 1981 when I was the Deputy District Governor (Region Chairman). I was invited to install Lion Poh Ah Chooi who had maintained his position as President for the second fiscal year. An old timer, Koay Ewe Sneah secured the post of Club Secretary. After the formalities, the members took to the floor and danced the night away. I was able to catch up on old times with some long-time friends, Tan Swee Kok, Leong Weng Khuan, Chua Eng Ham, Yeap Mok Fei, Tan Boon Peang and Low Ah Leng, the Treasurer. By 11 pm the function was over. It was a great fellowship night, no doubt. The event had even made it into the local newspapers!
