Lions Club of the Pearl of the Orient
It is imperative that the Lions’ fraternity in Malaysia needed to grow from strength to strength to be an effective game-changer in community service. As such, the month of October had been earmarked as a Membership Growth Month. During this particular month, the district inducted 70 new members from various clubs throughout the country.
On 31st October 1997, Lucy and I were invited to the Lions Club of Pearl of the Orient’s Social Dinner. We were met by President Linda Moo Siew Yoong. I inducted 2 new members, Chuah Eng Hock and Lee Chuan Teong. This was one of the highlights of the evening. The turnout was quite promising. The evening ended with a karaoke session.
